John M. Angelini Award

John M. Angelini is a graduate of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. He is a member of the American Watercolor Society, Miniature Artists of America, Miniature Art Society of FL, NJ Watercolor Society and honorary member of Audubon Artists and Allied Artists of America.

Angelini is listed in Who's Who in American Art Dictionary of International Biography, Men of Achievement, Personalities of America and others. He has had 22 solo exhibitions including invitationals by the NY Cultural Center and Nabisco World Headquarters in NJ which included a watercolor demonstration and interview televised on the NY public TV channel.

John M. Angelini has received the Medal of Honor, Audubon Artists at the National Academy; Medal of Honor, NJ Watercolor Society; Medal of Honor, National Arts Club, NY; Gold Medallion, NJ Watercolor Society; Grand Award, Art in the Park, Paterson, NJ and over 150 other awards in national, regional and state shows. He was chosen Artist of the Year in 1974 by Hudson Artists, Inc. He has exhibited world wide, including the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia and at the Smithsonian Institute in 2003. His works are in public and private collections in the US, Canada and Europe, including 20 watercolors at the Morgan Guaranty Trust Company, NY, Boy Scouts of America, Bloomfield College, NJ, St.Vincent College, PA, and Pasco/Hernando Community College, FL.

Angelini's book, The Art Competition Handbook, was the March 1986 feature of the month of the North Light Book Club. He has contributed articles to many publications and was featured in American Artist, Watercolor, USA, Palette Talk and Prize Winning Watercolors, 59 More Studio Secrets for the Graphic Artist, and many others. Angelini was the art critic of NJ Music and Arts magazine and a board member from 1971 to 1977. He has judged national, regional and state art shows.
